What an electrician costs in Adelaide

Every booking has a two-hour arrival window, confirmed by text the day before. On the day we text when we’re on the way, so you’ll know within about 20 minutes. If you have a hard deadline, school pick-up or an appointment, tell us when you book and we put you first or last in the day.

Yes. Reply to the booking text or tap the link and pick another day. We’d rather move you than rush you.

Yes. Every job gets an on-our-way text as we leave the previous one. If you need more notice, say so in the booking notes and we call instead.

No. We work Monday to Friday, first job from 8 am and the last booking window starts by 2 pm. We don’t do evenings or weekends, which is part of why our prices are what they are.

Most installs take one to two hours. An oven or cooktop about an hour, oven plus cooktop about two, a rangehood one to two. A gas to electric conversion is half a day. A switchboard upgrade is two to four hours.

Card, bank transfer or PayID, with a link on the invoice that’s texted to you when the job is done. Cash is fine too. Payment is due on completion.

The invoice and receipt are texted and emailed automatically when we mark the job complete. If it hasn’t landed, check your junk folder, then text us.

Yes, for any work that needs one. We lodge every Certificate of Compliance with the regulator and email you a copy within three days of the job. If you need it for a sale or an insurer, text us the job date and we resend it.

One of three licensed electricians: Luke, Michael or Anthony. Each drives a Switch Electrical van and texts you from the business when they’re on the way, so you always know who to expect. For rental properties we’re sent by your property manager. The work order says what we’ve been asked to do, and we tell you before we start.

Yes. Leave the key somewhere you tell us about, give us a lockbox or gate code, or have someone else there. Let us know about dogs, parking and intercoms in the booking notes and we sort it before we arrive.

We can recommend our plumbing partner for gas and hot water work, and a stonemason can be organised if the benchtop needs cutting, quoted separately. For cabinet work we point you to people we’ve worked with, but you book them directly.

Inside work goes ahead regardless. Roof, outdoor and switchboard work gets moved if the roof is wet or it’s dangerous, and we text you the morning of.

They’re quotes. Every price here assumes a standard single-storey home with the switchboard within reach, and most jobs are exactly that. When your request comes through, Luke looks it over and sends you a quote to confirm before anything is booked. If something about your home means more work, longer cable runs, a full switchboard, solid walls, he tells you then, before the day. If anything’s different on the day, we tell you before we start. Once the job is done, that quote becomes your invoice.

A fault call-out covers the first 30 minutes on site and the diagnosis. If it’s fixable in that time there’s nothing more to pay. For installs and quoted jobs the call-out is already inside the first price you see, it’s never added on top.
